Yes, we evangelica...I do like your Orthodox wall. <br /><br />Yes, we evangelicals believe in forgiving in our hearts (good) and getting God's forgiveness directly from him (good, too), but we need to get both through the body of Christ. We need to forgive those who have offended us with words, and receive the same. <br /><br />Christianity as I've seen it most of my life I think is a far cry from the Christianity we see spelled out in terms of church, etc., in the New Testament. Certainly with some notable, wonderful exceptions along the way.<br /><br />(This Blogger way of confirming I often find confounding.)Ted M. Though I will say that I think it is done well in the Evangelical Covenant Church of which we are now part of.<br /><br />I think you do hit on an important point here. Certainly it's not a case of either/or, but and/both. <br /><br />I think that the "key passages" are key in this area, and the James passage helps: "confess your faults/sins to one another..." <br /><br />John R.W.
